Almost 5km of TTC subway will shut down for this entire weekend

A TTC subway closure this weekend will shut down almost five kilometres of track at the western end of Line 2.The transit agency will shut down subway service on Line 2 between Kipling and Jane stations for the duration of the weekend on Saturday, April 26 and Sunday, April 27.The closure is just the latest in a round of repairs in what has proven to be a year of major disruption on Toronto's rapid transit network, and is once again being chalked up to “planned track work.”Throughout the closure, the roughly 4.7-kilometre stretch of track spanning Kipling, Islington, Royal York, Old Mill, and Jane stations.All stations along the closure will remain accessible for passengers looking to purchase and reload fares or connect with surface routes.Subway service between Ossington and Jane stations will be replaced by shuttle buses from 11 p.m. nightly until the end of service, from Mon., April 28 to Fri., May 2, due to planned track work.
