Animal sanctuary opens ‘forever home’ for five lions rescued from Ukraine

Cam Whitnall, managing director of The Big Cat Sanctuary, said they are relieved ‘to have these lions safe and settled’ in Kent.

The Big Cat Sanctuary in Kent, UK, opened a new Lion Rescue Centre, a "forever home" for five lions rescued from neglect and abuse in Ukraine. The centre was built with £500,000 raised through fundraising and was officially opened by Paul Hollywood. Four of the lions, Rori, Amani, Lira, Vanda and Yuna, had never touched grass before.
