The German Federal Court of Justice (BGH) has ruled in favor of the Federal Cartel Office's (Bundeskartellamt) decision to classify Apple as a company of paramount cross-market significance for competition. This allows the Bundeskartellamt to more strictly control Apple's practices, including its tracking policies for third-party apps, as part of a broader effort to regulate large digital companies. Apple had appealed the classification, but the BGH upheld the Bundeskartellamt's authority.
