The Senegalese National Assembly has taken the first step toward adopting a proposed law on amnesty. The Law Commission approved the bill, which aims to clarify the amnesty law n° 2024-09. The bill, put forth by Deputy Amadou Bâ, covers politically motivated crimes between February 1, 2021, and February 25, 2024. Deputies are scheduled to review the proposal in a plenary session on April 2. Other recent events include statements regarding the law by TAS, a visit to Touba, and a meeting between Malick Gackou, Ousmane Sonko, and Déthié Fall.
