Finance, mining and construction industries showed the biggest differences, a government report found.

Australia's gender pay gap has slightly narrowed, with women earning 18.6% less than men, according to a government report. The finance, mining, and construction sectors exhibit the largest disparities. The report reveals that 72.2% of employers have a pay gap favoring men, while 21.3% fall within the target range of +/-5%. The median pay gap decreased from 19% to 18.6%, with 56% of companies reducing their gaps. Notably, large companies like Macquarie Group and Woodside, despite having female CEOs, maintain significant pay gaps.
