BBC Radio 2 responds after being slammed for controversial Spice Girls lyrics edit

Spice Girls fans were torn when they heard changed lyrics to Spice Up Your Life on BBC Radio 2, but the station has explained what's really behind the edit to the 1997 hit song

BBC Radio 2 played an edited version of the Spice Girls' "Spice Up Your Life," removing the word "yellow" from the lyric "Yellow man in Timbuktu." The Spice Girls reportedly considered changing the lyric to "happy people" in 2018 but ultimately kept the original. The band has also teased future plans.
