Badan Meteorologi Klimatologi dan Geofisika (BMKG) mengeluarkan peringatan dini potensi cuaca ekstrem dampak sirkulasi siklonik khususnya di perairan sebelah selatan Indonesia periode 18 hingga 24 Februari 2025.
BMKG has issued a warning about the potential for extreme weather conditions in southern Indonesia from February 18 to 24, 2025, due to cyclonic circulation. The agency detected disturbances in the circulation patterns, particularly in the Timor Sea south of East Nusa Tenggara, which may strengthen and potentially develop into a tropical cyclone in the coming days. This could lead to significant rainfall in areas such as Nusa Tenggara Timur, Nusa Tenggara Barat, Lampung, Banten, Jakarta, and West Java. Additionally, the cyclonic circulation in the Timor Sea and the southwestern Banten region may cause prolonged convergence and increased rainfall in affected areas. BMKG advises the public and relevant authorities to remain vigilant and prepare for the impacts of extreme weather conditions.
