Bone fragments discovered in a Spanish cave belong to the oldest known human face in Western Europe, dating back 1.1 to 1.4 million years. The remains, including a cheek and upper jaw, represent an adult member of an extinct human species, possibly *Homo affinis erectus*, and suggest multiple early human forms inhabited the region during the early Pleistocene. The discovery, nicknamed "Pink," features a flatter nasal structure than *Homo antecessor*.
