Queensland Premier David Crisafulli broke an election promise by announcing a new $3.8bn 63,000-seat stadium at Victoria Park for the 2032 Brisbane Olympics, replacing plans for a BrisbaneLive Arena and a temporary stadium at Qsac. The Gabba stadium will be demolished and replaced by residential development. Other planned venues include a new national aquatic centre, upgrades to the Queensland Tennis Centre, new indoor sports centres, and a whitewater rafting centre.
