British firms among those that exported aircraft parts which reached Russia

British and other Western firms, including Boeing, have exported aircraft parts to India, which were subsequently re-exported to Russia since 2023. This involved over 700 shipments worth more than $50 million, covering components like generators and sensors. Most Russian importers were civilian airlines, some acting as defense contractors. Western companies were unaware of the diversion. India maintains a friendly stance with Russia despite the conflict in Ukraine. Several intermediaries were sanctioned by the US for facilitating the transfer of goods to Russia.
