Bundestagswahl 2025: So haben Menschen mit Migrationshintergrund gewählt

A study by DeZIM analyzing the 2025 German federal election found high voter turnout among people with migration backgrounds, expressing significant interest beforehand. Voters with Turkish, Middle Eastern, or North African roots favored the SPD, Left, and BSW, while the AfD saw higher support from these groups compared to the general population. The CDU/CSU remained the largest voter base, including among those with migration backgrounds, particularly those from the former Soviet Union, who prioritize foreign policy. Climate/environmental issues were less important for those with Turkish, Middle Eastern, North African, and former Soviet Union backgrounds, except for those with EU roots. The study emphasizes the heterogeneity of voters with migration backgrounds.
