Carney hopes recovering remains from Winnipeg landfill bring families closure

Prime Minister Mark Carney says he hopes recovering the remains of two First Nations women murdered by a serial killer from a Manitoba landfill brings closure to their families.

Mark Carney hopes the recovery of Morgan Harris' and Marcedes Myran's remains from the Prairie Green landfill in Winnipeg brings closure to their families. The women were murdered by Jeremy Skibicki in 2022. A search of the landfill began in December after advocacy from families, Indigenous leaders, and others. RCMP confirmed the remains belong to Harris and Myran.
