Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney is eager to speak with U.S. President Donald Trump to forge a solid relationship and has reached out to the U.S. side to arrange a conversation "as soon as possible." Carney respects what Trump is trying to do to enhance the U.S.. Canada expects to be affected by upcoming reciprocal tariffs. Carney will visit France and the U.K. before stopping in Iqaluit to reaffirm Canada's Arctic sovereignty, but has no immediate plans to visit the U.S..
