Cavan man jailed after agreeing to transport cannabis worth €1m on ferry

A sniffer dog indicated that there was something of interest in the cab of Doran's truck, which led to the discovery of eight bags of cannabis. The drugs were worth €1,020,400.



Gerard Doran, a 60-year-old Cavan man, was jailed for four-and-a-half years after pleading guilty to possession of over €1 million worth of cannabis for sale or supply. The drugs were discovered in his truck at Dublin Port after it arrived on a ferry from Holyhead, Wales.
