'Changed' Ottawa tennis pro Gaby Dabrowski thrives through treatment for breast cancer
Ottawa tennis pro Gaby Dabrowski, diagnosed with breast cancer in 2024, continued to compete, winning bronze at the Paris Games after two surgeries. After being initially dismissed, a scan revealed a cancerous lump. Dabrowski delayed further treatment to compete at Wimbledon and the Olympics. Following radiation and endocrine therapy, Dabrowski and her doubles partner Erin Routiffe claimed the WTA Finals title. Dabrowski says cancer changed her perspective on life and tennis.
