China declassifies tech of world’s first high orbit radar satellite, worrying US

China has declassified details about the Ludi Tance 4-01, the world's first high-orbit synthetic aperture radar (SAR) satellite, launched in August 2023. Operating in geosynchronous orbit at 36,000 km, it surpasses US low-Earth orbit satellites. The satellite uses a 'space power combination' system for high-resolution surveillance, capable of penetrating clouds and darkness. Applications include oceanography, meteorology, agriculture, and forestry. However, the US military expresses concern over China's advanced tracking and targeting capabilities.
