China take gold at World Wheelchair Curling Championships in Ayrshire

The first of two World Wheelchair Curling Championships to be held in Ayrshire concluded at the weekend with China taking home gold.



China won gold at the World Wheelchair Curling Championships in Ayrshire, defeating Korea in the final. Canada secured bronze. The event, the first World Curling Championship in Ayrshire in 60 years, saw China's Wang Haitao receive the Kate Caithness Salver. Stewart Pimblett of England received the World Curling Wheelchair Sportsmanship Award. Scotland finished seventh and qualified for the 2026 Paralympics. The World Wheelchair Mixed Doubles Championships will follow at the same venue.
