China’s home prices drop for 21st straight month as property recovery remains elusive

In the sole positive metric in new official data, new-home prices in top-tier cities edged up by 0.1 per cent month on month in February.



China's new-home prices fell for the 21st consecutive month in February across 70 mainland cities, dropping 0.1% month-on-month, mirroring January's decline. Year-on-year, new home prices fell 5.2%. Second-hand home prices also decreased by 0.3% month-on-month. Top-tier cities saw a slight increase of 0.1% in new-home prices month-on-month, while second-tier cities remained unchanged.
