Chinese EV maker Xpeng to double global presence to 60 markets in 2025, CEO says

The expansion in Thailand, where only one Xpeng model, the G6, is currently available, is part of its ‘go-global 2.0 strategy’.

Chinese electric vehicle maker Xpeng aims to expand its global presence to 60 markets by 2025, doubling its current footprint in around 30 countries and regions. This expansion, part of the company's 'go-global 2.0 strategy,' includes launching the X9 MPV globally from Guangzhou. CEO He Xiaopeng expects half of Xpeng's sales to originate from outside China by 2033. In 2024, 13% of the company's sales were from overseas. Xpeng is also expanding its charging network, with plans to establish ultra-fast charging stations in Thailand and Hong Kong. Additionally, the company intends to introduce a driving system and self-driving cars starting in 2026, with Thailand being a key market under this strategy, currently featuring the G6 model.
