Universitario, Sporting Cristal, and Alianza Lima will participate in the Copa Libertadores 2025 group stage, the first time all three have done so since 2003. The draw for the group stage is upcoming, raising the possibility of the Peruvian teams being drawn into the same group. In 2003, none of the teams advanced, while in 1999, Universitario advanced from a group containing Sporting Cristal.
