Corps members are disappointed as the Tinubu-led Nigerian government has delayed the implementation of a promised increase in their monthly allowance from N33,000 to N77,000, which was set to begin in February 2025. Despite assurances from the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Director-General in January that the increment was approved, the February allowance paid remained unchanged at N33,000. This has left corps members frustrated, as the current stipend is considered inadequate to meet rising living costs. They are now demanding clarity and urgent action from the government to fulfill the promised increase.
