Coupure du signal de quatorze chaînes de télévision locales : Le CDEPS dénonce une stratégie visant à mettre au pas le secteur
In Senegal, the state-owned Télédiffusion sénégalaise (TDS-SA) cut or severely altered the signal of fourteen local television channels citing payment delays, prompting the Conseil des Éditeurs et Diffuseurs de Presse du Sénégal (CDEPS) to denounce a deliberate strategy to control the media sector. The CDEPS also highlights instances of media outlets being ordered to cease broadcasting under threat of legal action for alleged administrative non-compliance. The CDEPS views these actions as a criminalization of the press and a violation of media regulation principles. They are planning national and international mobilization, including a symbolic protest on World Press Freedom Day, and call for national and international support to protect press freedom in Senegal.
