Court adjourns suit seeking to stop Kano LG allocations to April 14

A suit seeking to stop statutory allocations to Kano's 44 local government areas was adjourned to April 14 due to the absence of a defence counsel. The applicants are seeking a declaration that the local governments are not democratically elected and requesting the court to restrain the Federal Government from disbursing funds to them. The court also dismissed a criminal complaint against Lizzy Anjorin and the bail application of Bello Turji’s associates, while adjourning the trial of activist Aghogho to June 16. The Appeal Court halted Sanusi's reinstatement as Emir of Kano.
