Météo France warns of significant damage to infrastructure and homes, with wind speeds of 165 km/h averaged over ten minutes and gusts reaching 230 km/h. The cyclone is moving toward the island at 13 km/h, with a direct impact on the north now highly probable. An alert was issued for a temporary calm during the eye's passage, followed by a sudden resumption of strong winds. Heavy rainfall, flooding, landslides, and rough seas are also anticipated. Mauritius may experience strong seas and localized heavy rain but is expected to be less affected.
