'Dealing with the legal system was worse than the rape': Victims of male violence demand change

Survivors are calling for the use of counselling notes and character references to be banned in gender-based violence trials.



Four survivors of male violence in Ireland, supported by TD Ruth Coppinger, are calling for justice system reforms to be more victim-centered. Their demands include banning the use of character references and victims' counselling notes in gender-based violence trials and providing victims with representation in cases taken by the Director of Public Prosecutions. They are urging women to protest on March 8th to demand government action.
