Woman whose mum died from breast cancer campaigns for change to screening practices

Marian Lovett had a clear mammogram in 2022, but a year later, she was diagnosed with terminal, stage 4 metastatic breast cancer.

Following her mother's death from breast cancer, Martha Lovett Cullen is campaigning for a law in Ireland requiring women to be informed about their breast density after a mammogram. Her mother had dense breasts, which obscured her cancer on a mammogram, and she was never informed of this risk factor. Cullen seeks to align Ireland with other countries where breast density notification is standard practice.
