Deux fois plus de milieux humides sur le terrain de Stablex que sur celui de Northvolt

Une étude obtenue par «Le Devoir» démontre l’importance des milieux naturels du terrain pour la biodiversité.

A study obtained by Le Devoir reveals that the land the Quebec government wants to give Stablex for expanding its hazardous waste site in Blainville contains twice the area of wetlands (278,000 m²) compared to the area destroyed by Northvolt (138,000 m²). The study identifies 73 wetlands, including marshes, swamps, peat bogs, and ponds, many of which play a role in biodiversity and climate change mitigation. Despite the Natural Resources Minister's claims, the study found significant peat bog areas (97,237 m²). The site is home to several threatened or vulnerable species. The government and Stablex have refused to release the study publicly.
