President Trump invoked the 1798 Alien Enemies Act to expedite the removal of Venezuelan migrants suspected of being members of the Tren de Aragua (TdA) gang, which he designated a Foreign Terrorist Organization, claiming they are conducting irregular warfare against the U.S. This action, titled “Invocation of the Alien Enemies Act Regarding the Invasion of The United States by Tren De Aragua,” targets Venezuelan citizens 14 years of age or older who are members of TdA, are within the United States, and are not naturalized or lawful permanent residents. Prior to this, Democrat lawmakers criticized Trump's rhetoric, stating migration is not an "invasion."
