Drug shortages put patients at risk with chemists unable to dispense prescriptions daily, health leaders warn

Drug shortages are endangering patients as pharmacies are unable to fulfill prescriptions daily, health leaders warn. Pharmacies report being unable to dispense prescriptions at least once a day due to supply issues, often having safe alternatives in stock. Patients must return to their GP for a new prescription if their medication is out of stock.
