DVLA driver warning over being able to see a number plate from 20 metres away

The DVLA also warns that drivers need to meet a number of eyesight criteria to avoid breaking the rules



The DVLA warns drivers they must be able to read a number plate from 20 metres and meet specific eyesight standards, including a visual acuity of at least 0.5 on the Snellen scale and sufficient field of vision. Failing to wear prescribed eyewear or neglecting to report changes in eyesight can result in a £1,000 fine and three penalty points.
