Toronto will soon have direct flight route to country known for tropical rainforests

Montreal-headquartered airline Air Transat will be launching a new non-stop flight service between Toronto Pearson Airport and Guyana's capital, Georgetown. Nicknamed the "Garden City of the Caribbean," Georgetown is the retail and administrative centre of the country. Guyana is the only mainland South American country in which English is the official language, and is known for its natural resources, including its dense rainforests, sugarcane plantations, rice fields, and gold reserves.
