Dallas Arcand, an Indigenous entertainer from Edmonton and a member of the Alexander First Nation, won his fourth World Championship Hoop Dance Contest in Arizona in 2025. Inspired by a friend in high school and the "magic in motion" of hoop dancing, Arcand has been redefining the art form for over 30 years, taking it from local venues to international stages. He credits hoop dancing with bringing him closer to his culture and away from negative influences, highlighting its creative and athletic aspects.
