The UK government has announced support measures in response to the energy price cap increase, which adds £111 per year for the average household. The measures include expanding the warm home discount to more low-income families, a debt relief scheme, and funding for home upgrades. Shadow Energy Minister Andrew Bowie criticized these efforts as insufficient, stating they won't offset the price increase. Energy Minister Miatta Fahnbulleh defended the measures, highlighting the need to transition to clean energy to reduce reliance on volatile fossil fuel markets.
