Thelwell has been director of football since 2022 and helped steer the club through a turbulent period under Farhad Moshiri, including two points deductions and serious financial constraints, but will leave at the end of the season. Everton is transitioning to a "sporting leadership team" model, replacing Kevin Thelwell, who will leave as director of football. Leeds CEO Angus Kinnear will join Everton in June under new ownership, The Friedkin Group. Colin Chong, interim CEO since Denise Barrett-Baxendale's departure, will continue overseeing the Bramley-Moore Dock stadium and regeneration projects. Richard Kenyon, chief commercial and communications officer, is departing. Everton's new stadium will host the team next season, and David Moyes is involved in transfer planning.
