Every McDonald’s branch warned of legal action after staff harassment claims

The restaurant chain could face legal action if they fail to take steps to protect workers

Following a BBC report and claims of widespread harassment and discrimination at over 450 McDonald's branches in Britain, the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) has warned franchise owners of potential legal action for failing to protect workers. McDonald's is working with the EHRC to strengthen legal agreements and implement a "Cultural Action Plan" with enhanced training and reporting mechanisms. Law firm Leigh Day is preparing legal action on behalf of over 700 former and current employees, particularly those under 20, citing exposure to a culture of inappropriate conduct.
