Family, friends of Calgary woman killed by husband issue warning to other women

Allan Shyback was sentenced to seven years in prison for manslaughter and causing an indignity to a body in the 2012 death of his common-law wife, Lisa Mitchell.

Family and friends of Lisa Mitchell, a Calgary woman killed by her husband Allan Shyback in 2012, have issued a warning to other women after learning that Shyback, now out of prison, is active on dating apps and social media. Shyback buried Mitchell’s body in concrete in their basement and was convicted of manslaughter and indignity to a human body. The Women on Wings Society, an advocacy group, has urged caution, highlighting the need for awareness when interacting with strangers online.
