The FBI has formed a taskforce, in conjunction with the ATF, to address escalating vandalism at Tesla dealerships and charging stations across the US, following protests against Tesla owner Elon Musk's role in federal job cuts and budget reductions. These protests, some turning violent, have included incendiary attacks on Tesla properties. A group called TeslaTakedown is planning a global day of action. Amid plummeting Tesla sales and stock value, Trump has condemned the vandalism as domestic terrorism and threatened severe punishment. The Attorney General has warned against inciting violence, following a congresswoman's call for Musk to be "taken down".
