The Minister of State for Works, Muhammad Bello Goronyo, emphasized the necessity for alternative funding to maintain Nigeria's 35,000km road network, as the federal government cannot solely depend on annual budgets. During a visit to FERMA in Kogi State, Goronyo highlighted the importance of improving road infrastructure to enhance the economy, reduce unemployment, crime, and insecurity. He acknowledged challenges such as insecurity and hyperinflation faced by FERMA. Additionally, he mentioned ongoing efforts to adjust salaries for FERMA staff and progress in road projects.
