Fewer big money Premium Bonds prizes available from April draw

The Premium Bonds prize fund rate will decrease from 4.00% to 3.80% starting April, though the odds of winning remain at 22,000 to one. Major prizes like £100,000, £50,000, £25,000, and £10,000 will have fewer winners, while £25 prizes will increase. The total prize pot drops from £430 million to £411 million, with around 5.9 million prizes. NS&I also lowered interest rates on Direct Saver and Income Bonds. Experts suggest these changes may affect savers' returns, especially with inflation, and recommend exploring other savings options.
