FG Advocates Fair Visa Policies To Enhance Nigeria’s Global Trade

The Federal Government of Nigeria is advocating for reciprocal visa policies to enhance global trade, emphasizing that as Nigeria welcomes foreign investments, other countries should reciprocate by easing visa access for Nigerians. Minister Mohammed Idris highlighted challenges faced by Nigerians in countries like Ethiopia and Indonesia, noting that Ethiopia recently canceled e-visas for Nigerians. The government plans to address these issues through diplomatic engagement. Additionally, Nigeria is investing in pharmaceuticals to boost local production and reduce import dependency. Efforts to enhance intra-African trade include workshops organized by the Nigerian community in Ethiopia.
