The operation by the GNDOCB was supported by the Emergency Response Unit, Regional Armed Support Unit, Garda National Bureau of Criminal Investigation (GNBCI) and the Dublin Crime Response Team (DCRT).
Five men, aged in their 30s, 40s, and 60s, were arrested in Dublin as part of an investigation into a major drug gang, known as The Family, that has surpassed the Kinahan cartel as the largest drug importer in Ireland. The arrests were made by the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB) and supported by multiple units, and the men are currently detained at Garda stations.
