Florida man shoots two Israeli tourists after mistaking them for Palestinians

Mordechai Brafman told police he shot at two Israeli tourists because he thought they were Palestinians

Mordechai Brafman, a 27-year-old Florida man, has been charged with two counts of attempted murder after shooting two Israeli tourists in Miami Beach, mistaking them for Palestinians. He fired seventeen shots from a semi-automatic handgun. Both victims survived. This incident follows a reported rise in anti-Muslim, anti-Palestinian, and antisemitic hate crimes in the U.S., particularly since the start of the conflict in Gaza. Other recent incidents include attacks on Palestinian Americans and anti-Semitic acts, such as threats and physical assaults against Jewish individuals.
