Tamzin Hort testified at the inquest into the death of her friend, Jaysley Beck, describing the harassment women faced in the Army. Beck had been sent thousands of messages by her supervisor and was allegedly pinned down by a senior soldier. Hort recounted derogatory comments and how women were constantly targeted. She locked her door after an incident and found a sergeant with a condom outside her room. She didn't report it and felt therapy wasn't confidential. George Higgins, a former sergeant, didn't comment on a relationship with Beck. Ryan Mason pressured Beck, leading to her discomfort and a call to her father. Mason left the Army after the incident. The inquest noted the legal implications of the harassment.
