Former Atiku Abubakar support groups from the 19 Northern states defected to the APC and were formally received by APC National Chairman Abdullahi Umar Ganduje and Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin. The defectors, citing encouragement from Barau and positive strides by President Tinubu's government, pledged support for Tinubu's administration and his 2027 re-election bid. They were assured of inclusivity within the APC.
