"Dear England" at the National Theatre, a play about Gareth Southgate's efforts to unify the England men's team and its fans, has been updated with a bittersweet ending reflecting the Euro 2024 defeat and Southgate's departure. The play explores themes of national identity, media attention, Brexit, racism, and COVID-19, featuring music and focusing on Southgate's journey from missing a penalty in 1996 to becoming manager and changing the team's approach to winning. The production runs until May 24 at the National Theatre.
