German city to ban people from wearing clothing on nudist beaches

The new ruling follows complaints from people who felt ‘harassed’ in nudist areas

Rostock, a German city on the Baltic coast, has introduced a ban on wearing clothing on nudist beaches following complaints of harassment. The beaches are divided into clothing-optional, mixed, and clothed sections. The new regulation reduces the number of nudist areas from 37 to 27 blocks. The decline in popularity of nudism, particularly among younger generations, is noted. The German Association for Free Body Culture reports a significant drop in membership. Meanwhile, Berlin recently allowed topless swimming in public pools to promote equality.
