German newspaper boasts it tracked down private data of top US security officials

A German newspaper is boasting it has accessed personal data and contact information online, even passwords, for some of America’s top security officials, including Defense Secretary and former Fox News host Pete Hegseth.

A German newspaper, Der Spiegel, claims to have accessed personal data, including passwords and contact information, of top U.S. security officials like Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, National Security Adviser Mike Waltz, and National Intelligence Director Tulsi Gabbard, using publicly available data and hacked customer information. The paper warns that hostile intelligence services could exploit this publicly available data to compromise officials' communications, particularly in light of a recent security breach involving an unsecured Signal chat group where these officials discussed a military strike.
