GO Transit outage will make it a nightmare getting to and from Toronto this weekend

GO Transit outages this weekend will throw a wrench in travel plans for anyone relying on the Lakeshore West Line to get to and from Toronto.Metrolinx will halt service on the Lakeshore West Line between Aldershot GO and Union Station starting on Saturday, March 21, until the end of service on Sunday, March 22.The regional transit agency states that the closure is necessary "to accommodate critical track work."According to Metrolinx, "Planned construction is taking place on the Lakeshore West corridor, as part of GO Expansion, with work continuing at Long Branch GO and on the Burloak Drive underpass."During the closure, crews will work to rehabilitate infrastructure that Metrolinx states is "critical for maintaining safe and reliable service on the Lakeshore West line, including work at the Etobicoke Creek bridge and Bronte Creek."Metrolinx adds that this work can only be carried out safely during modified train service windows.During the partial route clo...
