Godstone: People evacuated after sinkhole set to be out of their homes 'for months'

A sinkhole appeared in the village of Godstone, Surrey, leading to the evacuation of 30 properties. Residents and businesses affected by the incident expressed frustration over a lack of information and support from the council. The sinkhole, which caused local roads to be closed and a 100-meter cordon to be put in place, has created uncertainty about when residents can return home, with estimates ranging from two to four months. A second sinkhole was reported near the first, and the council has stated that the investigation into the incident may take months.
