Hajj: Local Airlines Refuse To Sign 2025 Pilgrims Airlift Agreement

In March 2025, Nigerian airlines Max Air, Air Peace, and Umza Aviation Services refused to sign the 2025 Hajj pilgrims airlift agreement with NAHCON due to disagreements over payment currency, pilgrim allocations, and airline rejections by some state governors. Only Flynas, a Saudi-designated carrier, signed the agreement. The delay could affect the Hajj operation, including securing favorable landing slots in Madinah. A past deduction from Flynas pilgrims' BTA to pay other pilgrims' airfare is also a point of contention, with some pilgrims petitioning the EFCC.
